Dr. Michael Allocca

Mike has held a broad range of management positions in engineering, marketing, sales and general management in both large and small firms. His global industry experience is as diverse, ranging from aerospace to business equipment.

He recently served for 10 years as President and CEO of Ascom Hasler Mailing Systems, Inc., a manufacturer and marketer of automated mailing systems and equipment. His accomplishments included a redesign of the firm’s distribution channels and new product development, resulting in consistent growth in revenues and income during his tenure as CEO. For the 18 years prior to that, he held senior engineering, marketing, sales and general management positions for Pitney Bowes, including Vice President and General Manager of the Postage Meter Division, the company’s core business unit. Mike’s streamlining of the product development process and revamping of the manufacturing and quality processes resulted in the substantial improvement of new product time-to-market and manufacturing cost structure. He held prior engineering design positions with the U.S. Naval Applied Science Laboratory, General Electric, Singer, Datatrends and Litton Industries.

Mike is a native of New York and a graduate of the Mahler Advanced Management Skills Program.  His academic achievements are as impressive as his business experience. He holds BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering from Pratt Institute and New York University as well as an MBA from the University of Connecticut.  Mike recently completed a doctorate in management with a concentration in new product development and innovation speed.  He has been an adjunct professor, teaching Management and International Business for Sacred Heart University and Pace University. He has been active in his community having served as President of United Way as well as having held board positions for the Boys and Girls Club and the Exchange Club. He lives in New Canaan, Connecticut with his wife Joan and has two grown children.
