The Goodyear Leadership Development Program is a three module executive development program developed by The Mahler Co., a global supplier of customized executive development solutions for Goodyear Tire and Rubber.  Over 200 emerging leaders at Goodyear have participated in this program in Europe, North America/South America and Asia since 2003.

“The program focuses on what it takes to build a High Performance Culture at Goodyear”, says Dr. Philip Janson, president of Mahler.  “Students and graduates appreciate the depth of feedback provided on their mastery of the Goodyear High Performance Competencies.  In addition, they tell us that the assessments and personalized coaching sessions they are provided with really focuses them on their strengths and how they can help Goodyear move to the next level”.

In addition to extensive feedback and personalized coaching by Mahler faculty, students are exposed to best practices at leading global companies through the use of case analysis. Students learn the fundamentals of successful turnarounds and apply these principles to an analysis of Goodyear leadership.  Most importantly, they get to share these ideas and reflections with senior leadership who participate one day in each of the three modules.

“Students tell us that they value the team building with their Goodyear peers from around the globe.  The networks become very powerful forces in their lives,” says Janson.  “Students team up on change projects to apply the learnings from the program and review these with senior Goodyear leaders.  The classroom networking enables students to team with peers on major initiatives designed to help the company achieve the next level of growth.”

In addition, students are given tools to examine their own careers and their leadership convictions.  Their self analyses are then discussed with Mahler coaches who help them identify action steps to help them achieve their goals.
